Classroom Shopping Linky Party!

This linky party is devoted to the die-hard teacher-shoppers. The ones who leave the house on supposed "normal" shopping trips. You know, food for the family, basic supplies for the household.

But we all know our secret. We are teacher-shoppers. And we represent a unique group of consumers.

Only the truly skilled (i.e. teachers) can achieve our form of shopping. It involves distracting loved ones ("do you want to check out the ___ section while I look here?"). It involves (at-times) embarrassing situations, especially for family members ("They don't have 25 of them!" or "It doesn't come in blue!!"). You know what I mean. I hope.

Because you are the ones who manage to find treasured items for your classrooms in the cheapest stores in your town. You are the ones brave enough to dig through an entire bin of items to be sure the one thing you are looking for is not hidden at the bottom. You are the ones flagging down tired employees, imploring them to check the stock out back. You cannot be stopped. You are a force to be reckoned with. No typical shopper is safe in your path.

This linky party is in honor of all of you bold shoppers. We must come together to share our loot. Whether they are items to decorate your classroom, supplies for your students, new books for your classroom library, that undeniably cute and necessary stuff from the cheap bins in Target--you must share it here!

  2. Target also had the "shoe box" size plastic containers with colored lids for 5 for $5 2 weeks ago. In the tupperware section. I also find neat things in the kitchen section..lol..I know it sounds crazy but it works! Some of my colleagues ask where in the world do I get these ideas..I tell them too many hours down EVERY aisle at WalMart or DollarTree!!!

  7. I feel like we need to start a Target and Dollar Store Teacher Shoppers Anonymous group! So glad I'm not alone. Why did I drive to Target the other day instead of Giant? To buy paper plates and pita bread of course.... plus to check the dollar bins for supplies. Shockingly I only walked out with 4 mini clip boards for my read the room center and spent less than $15. My target restocks on Tuesdays so you know where I go every week :-) I'll link up when I give in and buy more baskets adn things I don't need. Now why doesn't Lakeshore have a dollar deals :-)

  9. This made me laugh so hard haha, it's sooo true and funny how everything you come across could potentially be used in your classroom, my husband has even gotten used to the fact that sometimes furniture will disappear from our home, to later be found in my classroom ... love the linky party I'll have to find some pics and try to link up :)

  10. Oh, my! Today I returned over $100 worth of stuff at Office Max, pulled out of the parking lot and parked by the curb, realizing I could cross the street and "browse" the $1 section at Target. Nearly $40 later I had 18 packages of mini-magnetic erasers (2 to a package, I need to see if they're for white boards). i also scored mini-white board markers (3 to a package). Someone save me!!! I've only been on vacation two days.
P.S. Target is so sneaky. Their products changed twice in three days. Two trips equals me heading to the poor house.

  11. Oh - I can't resist looking at all the goodies, but it saddens me since I have NO Target to shop at!!!! Target has been my favorite store forever, but now I live in Hawaii (I know - play me a sad song) and while there is finally a Target on Oahu, I have since moved to Maui where there is still none. And extra boo because Target won't ship to Hawaii.
But I shop vicariously through you all! Enjoy!

  12. Thanks for hosting! I'm usually on the craft blogging circuit but am branching out into the education blogging world so I can share stuff from my classroom.

  14. Hey Walmart and Staples are now doing $1 stuff so be on the look out! I bought lots of basic supplies that I had trouble finding last year really cheap. For example the plastic brad pocket folders which I use for homework folders.
