Contraction Confections Game

Happy Saturday everyone! I just finished up a new game for my students. We've been working on contractions in class this past week and I wanted to make something fun for them to practice various contractions.

This game is played a lot like Memory, but has a little twist...

Lunchbox Linky!

Tara from 4th Grade Frolics is having such a fun linky party--it's a Lunchbox Linky AND she's hosting a giveaway for a beautiful lunch tote as well! Thanks Tara!!!

So, I snapped a shot of my lunch earlier this week. I actually don't have a lunch bag at the moment--I hope I don't get kicked out of the party!!!

I am just between bags and have been throwing a lunch together (totally last minute each morning) right into my backpack.

But after seeing everyone's adorable bags, I'm thinking it's time to get a new one!

So, here's a typical-ish lunch for me...

Frequent Word Flip! {Tropical Colors}

Hi again bloggy friends! Last night, I shared Frequent Word Flip! (the pink and zebra version). I also wanted to share a tropical colors version--so it would be more whole-class friendly. This item can be found for free in my Teacher's Notebook shop. Let me know if it's something you can use with your class, I love hearing it when you can use any of these items! Thanks for visiting!!

SyllabiKicks: suffixes ful, less, ness

This week, my class will be working on spelling words with the suffixes ful, less, and ness. They love playing SyllabiKicks, so I made another set of the game for this week, to help us expand upon the words in our spelling list.

If you would like a free copy of this game, please leave a comment below with your email address...I will send a copy of this game to the first three readers to leave their information.

If you would like to see more about this game and the other versions of SyllabiKicks, please check them out in my Teacher's Notebook shop.

This is earlier than I usually post because I'm going to stop by again later and share a free game I am finishing up for my students right now. I hope you will have a chance to stop by and check it out this evening. Thanks for visiting!

Get those anchor chart photos ready to share--starting Friday, March 16th!!

My very good friend Ms. M from Ms. M's Blog and I are hosting two linky parties...all devoted to anchor charts!

We're inviting you all to join in and share some of your favorite anchor charts and link up with us.

And we're so excited, we're even throwing two parties...

Thank you!! Blogroll being fixed!!!

Please accept these virtual flowers! You are all so lovely and I appreciate your help last night with my blogroll!! Thanks to you all, I think I finally have it figured out!

It turns out I was trying to add too many blogs to my blogroll, so it was just not working. I ended up making a few blogrolls for different grade levels, which I'm still adding to...might take me a couple of days to get it back to where it was.

Thank you again! And thanks for stopping by...I promise I will post something more interesting than this next time! ;)

Teachers Taking Care of Teachers

I'm sure many of you have read about this on your favorite blogs, but I did want to help spread the word about a very important effort taking place in blog land.

Crystal from Kreative in Kinder is taking on the incredible task of organizing donations and support for schools that have suffered from the recent tornadoes that caused devastation in many states.

Crystal has ideas for many ways to help out schools in need...from donating items from our classrooms to items from our shops, or even a letter to show support and encouragement. If you would like to join in, please visit Crystal's blog to read more...

SyllabiKicks (prefixes dis, re, un)

Hello, bloggy friends! I wanted to quickly share the newest version of SyllabiKicks.

This is the third game in the SyllabiKicks series (you can read more about these games by clicking the green link above).

This version focuses on the prefixes dis-, re-, and un- (can you guess what my class is learning in spelling this week??).

SyllabiKicks...A syllabication card game!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it is the weekend and I can get lost in the blogs again!

This evening, I wanted to tell you about a new game series I made for my class. It's loosely based on Snowflake Syllables, which my students really enjoyed. I wanted to build upon that game and make one that would serve a couple of purposes--with some cool shoes (great shoes are always in order, right?)!

Sticky note binder tabs!

Hi everyone! It's my last day of vacation (sniff!) and I've been organizing my student binders for Reader's and Writer's Workshop (more to come on those binders soon!).

Anyhow, I was a little stuck because I have had several new students arrive in the past couple of weeks and had also run out of binder dividers.

Salmon Life Cycle poster & worksheets

Have you guys met Nikki over at MelonHeadz Illustrating yet?? I know many of you have but if you have not, you must run over to her blog right now!

Nikki is a very gifted artist who designs clipart and kindly lets teachers use them in files to share or sell. Want to know something even better??

She takes requests!

We're Mad About Science sign {printable}

Happy Thursday friends!! I hope you are all having a nice week!

I am a lady of leisure because I am on vacation! I feel really guilty admitting that, since I haven't been the best blogger this week. But I promise that I have been doing bloggish-type things. Like stuff for my classroom I'll share with you on here. And designing blogs, but of course!

Anyhow, I made a little sign today that could be used as a poster or for student binders/folders (which is what I'm going to use it for). 'Cause it's Science Fair season in our school!
