Lunchbox Linky!

Tara from 4th Grade Frolics is having such a fun linky party--it's a Lunchbox Linky AND she's hosting a giveaway for a beautiful lunch tote as well! Thanks Tara!!!

So, I snapped a shot of my lunch earlier this week. I actually don't have a lunch bag at the moment--I hope I don't get kicked out of the party!!!

I am just between bags and have been throwing a lunch together (totally last minute each morning) right into my backpack.

But after seeing everyone's adorable bags, I'm thinking it's time to get a new one!

So, here's a typical-ish lunch for me...

I try to eat pretty healthy at school. Set a good example for my students and all that. The yogurt and iced coffee are usually for snack time but sometimes end up with my lunch if I've eaten earlier (the coffee is refilled at school at least once a day).

The cheese and crackers, carrots, and apple are almost always my lunch. Sometimes I take a bit of leftover dinner from the night before instead of the crackers.

Tara also asked some really interesting questions about our lunch routines with our's always so amazing to read how different all of our schools are, isn't it?

So, our routine. We have recess first this year, then lunch from 12:20-12:40. Teachers have three duties a week (lunch or recess), so there are two days we actually get a longer block for our own lunches. Otherwise, the teachers' lunches are the same 20 minutes as the students'. Unless, like today, it rained, snowed, and sleeted briefly (oddly enough, EXACTLY at their recess time) which meant they were inside with me, then I had to take them to lunch and stay in the cafe with them for lunch duty. A loooong 45 minutes and not so quiet lunch for me. :/

We don't eat lunch with our students...that would be the end of me--joking! A little. The duty teachers watch the rest of the classes.

  4. Hi Kristen:

Is this a scratch and sniff post?
I am wanting cheese AND crackers AND wine!

My favorite part of this post?
I can see the CRAFT board in the background.
And your iced coffee cup matches.
And it looks like it was meant to be together.

This is one of my happy places.

    Thanks for that.

  6. Hi Kristen!
I love your lunch. Looks really yummy! Did you polish that apple? Do you drink your coffee black with ice? :)

    1. Not polished, just a good-lookin apple I guess! I do drink black coffee (both hot and ice) I love it!

  7. Your lunch does look delicious! I should start eating cheese and crackers, yummo!!!

    Marvelous Multiagers!

  8. Why is there no chocolate in that lunch box?

    Going Nutty!

    1. Because all of my Easter candy is waiting for me at home!! :)

  9. Your so funny. :) I've fallen off the blog train, but I always manage to find my way back here to your blog. :)

  10. Your lunch looks way yummier than mine...oh wait I don't usually eat lunch. I wanted to let you know we played your game today and the kids LOVED it! I told them it was made by another awesome teacher from a different state. They couldn't believe that you lived in a different state. Their world is just too small! :)
