Happy Saturday everyone! I just finished up a new game for my students. We've been working on contractions in class this past week and I wanted to make something fun for them to practice various contractions.

So, I snapped a shot of my lunch earlier this week. I actually don't have a lunch bag at the moment--I hope I don't get kicked out of the party!!!

I am just between bags and have been throwing a lunch together (totally last minute each morning) right into my backpack.

But after seeing everyone's adorable bags, I'm thinking it's time to get a new one!

Frequent Word Flip! {Tropical Colors}

Frequent Word Flip! {free game}

Ok, I know it's wicked pink and I don't usually do that with my items BUT I made this game for a student of mine who is having some trouble retaining certain sight words, but not others. An interesting case. Anyhow. Have I told you about my class? I have mostly girls this year. And by girls, I mean girls...nail polish, cute outfits, and LOTS of pink. Actually, if you stand at the front of my room and squint your eyes, you kind of only see a sea of pink. It's too cute!

SyllabiKicks: suffixes ful, less, ness

This week, my class will be working on spelling words with the suffixes ful, less, and ness. They love playing SyllabiKicks, so I made another set of the game for this week, to help us expand upon the words in our spelling list.

CAFE (actually, CRAFT) Board

Happy Saturday bloggy friends! I hope this counts as an anchor chart, because I'm linking it up in Ms. M's and my Anchor Chart Linky Party...it does, right??

Anyhow...I know it's getting late in the year, but I wanted to introduce the sisters' CAFE method to my ELL students. I almost said "ELL newcomers" but, at this point, many of my students don't seem like newcomers anymore! Their English skills are strengthening and this translates into all other areas (especially reading!). So it is actually the perfect time to introduce CAFE to my students!

Only, I wanted to alter it a bit to fit the needs of my 4th and 5th graders...

It turns out I was trying to add too many blogs to my blogroll, so it was just not working. I ended up making a few blogrolls for different grade levels, which I'm still adding to...might take me a couple of days to get it back to where it was.

SyllabiKicks...A syllabication card game!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it is the weekend and I can get lost in the blogs again!

This evening, I wanted to tell you about a new game series I made for my class. It's loosely based on Snowflake Syllables, which my students really enjoyed. I wanted to build upon that game and make one that would serve a couple of purposes--with some cool shoes (great shoes are always in order, right?)!

Sticky note binder tabs!

Hi everyone! It's my last day of vacation (sniff!) and I've been organizing my student binders for Reader's and Writer's Workshop (more to come on those binders soon!).

Anyhow, I was a little stuck because I have had several new students arrive in the past couple of weeks and had also run out of binder dividers.

We're Mad About Science sign {printable}

Happy Thursday friends!! I hope you are all having a nice week!

I am a lady of leisure because I am on vacation! I feel really guilty admitting that, since I haven't been the best blogger this week. But I promise that I have been doing bloggish-type things. Like stuff for my classroom I'll share with you on here. And designing blogs, but of course!

Anyhow, I made a little sign today that could be used as a poster or for student binders/folders (which is what I'm going to use it for). 'Cause it's Science Fair season in our school!
