Optimum Organization: Table Folders

Hello and welcome to the last Optimum Organization of the summer! Elizabeth and I have had so much fun hosting this party these past weeks! If you would like to link up with us for one last time, please grab the button below and join in...
My organizational technique for the week is centered around my students' tables.

This year, in efforts to make things run more efficiently, I am going to use table folders to hold work for my students. I'm planning on placing any assignments we will need for that day in these folders, to eliminate wasted time in paper passing.

These lovelies are from Walmart and were 47¢ each! They will match our black and white with brights nicely...
Actually, I have a confession.

This is really a sneak peek at a much larger project I've been working on for my students this summer! But I will share that on Monday...a little suspense for you :)

Anyhow, I'm hoping this will help me save those precious minutes of instructional time that go by oh so fast!

If you are interested in the table signs shown above, I have them available as an instant download right here: Bright Table Signs

They go up to Table 10. I'm hoping you don't have more than ten tables. Or, if you do, that you also have a lovely, enormous classroom!

Thanks for visiting and please join us in our final week of Optimum Organization! :)

  1. What a great idea! I love the print on your folders!

  2. Love these, as always! You make such wonderful things!! Especially loving the crisp look of the fonts. Can I ask what fonts you used for this??

  3. Thanks for sharing the labels. I want to do the same sort of thing but using caddies just in case they need special math tools or anything else (that I can not think of right now because I have summer brain). Looking forward to your post on Monday! Thanks for hosting this linky - it has been great (now I just need to find one for my house!)

  4. Brilliant idea as always (and beautifully designed, too) :)

  5. This is genius! Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. That's such a great idea and it keeps them from milling around the classroom to turn something in! I might try this out this year - love the idea!

  8. What a great idea! I wish I had found this linky sooner as I am always looking for ways to organize that I have not thought of already!

  9. Hi Kristen!

This is my first year teaching, I just earned my credential and have been saving things from your blog for over a year to finally use in my own classroom one day. Do you have little round flipped signs (white on black labels) in your store with numbers 1 -20? I searched your Organization page here, but didn't see numbered labels. I love love love them! THANK YOU FOR ENCOURAGING me to create a beautiful colorful place to begin my career!

  10. I love those zebra folders! Walmart, here I come! Thanks so much for hosting this linky. I'm sad that I waited until the last week to join in.

  12. This gives me a great idea! I might have to think about doing table folders! Thank you!

  14. Hi!! Love this idea and already have printed off the table numbers and laminated them! :) I have looking all over for some zebra folders, because let's face it, the whole combo is too cute. I cannot find them anywhere. How long ago did you get them at Walmart?

    1. Thanks! I found them at the beginning of our bts sales at Walmart, next to the rest of the folders, but in their own box. They were called "backpack folders" to prevent the papers from being lost in backpacks and they had some zebra mixed in with other designs. I just tried searching for them online but I couldn't find them anywhere. I hope you find them out there!!
